“Here is a little update on my training and a few pictures.
We have just a month left for the Olympics !! Training at Bolles has been exciting, with everyone getting ready to swim fast.
We had a Breakfast with Champions where we could sign lots of autographs for younger athletes and parents as well. I love being around the kids and it was fun to share the excitement with them.
Last weekend we had the Bolles Classic at our pool and I got to race 4 events. I liked my times for now with a 1.01.7 in the 100 back, 2.16.9 in the 200 back, 1.00.9 in the 100 fly and 26.7 in the 50 free.
This week we are sending all good energy to our teammates at the Olympic trials in Omaha !! Keep believing and keep moving forward !!

BLOG | `Happy New Year for all’
Personal hi, Happy New Year for all! How the love, the joys, the friendships and the accomplishments are Olimpicamente gifts in 2012!
I passed the Christmas with the family in S. Jose, who was wonderful! E already we come back toward U.S.A. We train 3 days in Miami, and later already we come back toward Jacksonville. We pass the New Year in the center of the city with some friends and until our “Brazilian adoptive children”, Ana Paula and Ana Carolina.
Already we are training firm, therefore this year is super special.
The Joanna Maranhão is arriving here to also train 1 month with people!

BLOG | American championship and five years of married
Hi peoples,
This week we are going Atlanta to swim the American Championship. It goes to be in the swimming pool of the Georgia Tech, where it was the Olimpíadas of 1996.
I compete the sixth 100 butterfly and the 100 coasts and in Saturday the 100 exempt. It goes to be transmitted to the living creature for the website of usaswimming.org. As in U.S.A. it has 3 hours of spindle for Brazil, the eliminatory ones start the 9:00 of the morning, or the 12:00 of Brazil and the ends start the 18:00 of U.S.A. and the 21:00 of Brazil.
It has more than 1000 enrolled athletes in the competition and go to have some champions World-wide Olimpicos and Recordistas. Of the athletes who train with us we go to be a total of 5 (3 Brazilians, 1 American and 1 Trinidade and Tobaco).
Last week I and the Diogo made 5 years of married and can commemorate this union that was born of the swimming pools and in the ones of the force to each day.
We gain a dessert of the restaurant that we eat and also we saw a parade of boats illuminated with burning of fogos. The Diogo spoke that it who contracted! eheh!
After the Camp. American we will be coming back toward Brazil to swim the Open in Rio De Janeiro, that is selective Olimpica! Valley very the twisted one of you! Great I hug to all!

BLOG | After the Pan, time to travel for the beach with the family
Personal hi,
After the Pan, I obtained to be 5 days with my family, since I do not have much chance to always see them. We had never made a trip 5 together ones, and I did not travel with my parents since 1995. They had been wonderful and inesquecíveis days. After much preparation and concentration for the Pan, this descansinho was deserved! We start the trip stopping in the City of Mexico, in the truth we lose the connection for the flight to have behind and pass one day there. Already we wanted to visit the Cathedral of N. Mrs. of Guadalupe and use to advantage the chance.
The old Church is sinking, then already they construiram a new. History is pretty and valley the penalty to know it. Later we were for Los Handles, and we are in Handle San Lucas. The biggest attraction is the beach of the love there, and alone if it arrives there of boat. Also we catch one and we could enjoy of an incredible nature, to start for the diving of snorkel with pretty fish, the pelicans diving constantly to feed itself of fish and of the meeting of the rocks with the sea. Our hotel was in the side of the Pacific, only had 2 hotels in this position and tinhamos a privileged super vision of the one for of the sun, another show of the nature.
E one day also we could witness the turtles you drink to be set free for the sea, since pequenininhas already winning the waves and facing the obstacles of the natural life. These days had been very good and gave to renew the forces for the new season. Already I am in return to U.S.A. where I will be until December. I come back toward Brazil to swim the Open Brazilian, of 14 the 18 of December in Rio De Janeiro, search of the Olímpico index. I will continue counting on the twisted force and of you!

BLOG | The mural of the Brazilian medalhistas in the Pan
Oi, Staff!
The Pan arrived at the end! In the night of the last sunday, the closing ceremony happened and the athletes who had competed until it I finish day had been able to go, but we of swimming already had come back before.
They had been two weeks of much sweat, much concentration, much union, overcoming, surprises, challenges and we could live together with vocês, that had folloied in them and twisted, many joys and emotions! Back in the Village Pan-American he had a structure for the team of Brazil, with room of the fisioterapia and massages, room of uniforms and also the convivência room, where the athletes could attend TV and use the computers.
In the side of it are of this room, the staff of the COB organized a mural with the photos of all the medalhistas until that day! As I was in the Village until day 21, only took off photo until there and he gave to remember some medals that we earn! He would like to thank VERY the chance to share with vocês what we live in these days by means of blog of the Land and to all thank the enthusiasm, confidence and patriotism that we feel all of the torcedores during the Pan-American.
To also thank the God, who in the ones of the health and ortaleza. E is the certainty of that each one of us better made its inside of its mission. After the Games I obtained to visit quickly Guadalajara together with my family. It is a beautiful and very hospitable city. Also we pass one day in the City of Mexico and later we are four days in Los Handles, a beach that is in the Peninsula Baja California.
He is Pretty! As already postei many photos, I go to order the photos of the beach in next blog! Valley the penalty to give one looked at and to relax. After all, vocês is part of these conquests!

Hi People!
It only wanted to say VERY THANKS for all twisted one, affection and energy of vocês! I was super happy with the result of the test today and liked very it my time. 1m01s07. If I had made this time in the test, I would have been silver, but with problem of the exit, in the single test I swam well above of mine better. But for me the medal of today was valid for two!
It was not one week easy, after having had the problems in the single test, I had that to modify some things, as the exit, the entrance of the turn, the frequency of I swim, and to liven up to me, but the perseverance was valid and today I could spoon all the fruits of the work!
The Diogo helped me sufficiently, always being positive and giving touchs to me it stops to improve. The Gustavo Calado, ours technician obtained to enter in the swimming pool today and follow can me. It is always good for having the trainer for close.
The twisted one in the swimming pool was enormous, my parents and sister was there, together with several other parents, of the Cesão, the Tati Sakemi, the Léo de Deus and them they had vibrated very with the victories! Very good so for having the support of them of close. I very thank they for all love, fellowship and example!
Debtor to that they had been in Brazil twisting for us, of far, but I am certain that with much emotion! Here is part of this medal! The end of the competition is always the biggest party, many interviews, many photos, exchange of uniforms and commemorations!
When we arrive in the Village we were direct to eat a pizza in the International Zone! I used to advantage stops later going in the little store and I obtained to buy small mementos that had not obtained to buy so far. But it did not have as much thing… but at least I bought the mug pra our collection, and small gifts.
In the final counting of medals of swimming they had been 24, being 10 of gold, 8 of silver and 6 of bronze. Congratulations to all the team, professionals and all that contribute, of a direct or indirect form, close or to far, working or twisting, so that our team had this great performance! I feel myself proud very of being Brazilian and being have left of this team!
Tomorrow we leave dawn here, we go to be 4 days in Los Handles, a praiana city here in Mexico. I go to try to order notice of there! Fulfilled mission, now one deserved rest!

BLOG | Day of competition
Personal hi,
The competition continues hot and now alone it lacks to 1 day swimming to finish it. Tomorrow only it has 2 single tests and the 2 rotations of medley.
The climate in Guadalajara and the Village continues hot, and some sports of Brazil had arrived today, for the second week of competitions.
A thing that of the one not to take here is the coffee, is very bad! E in other places also we hear that he is super weak. Today before the trainings of the afternoon, we were of the side of it are of the swimming pool, that is close squares to them of tennis, and there has an area with some little stores and a gostoso coffee! finally!
Today we were two wins in 50 the free one, test that Brazil comes world-wide dominating! Congratulations to the Cesão and the Bruno for the great test! Tomorrow it has more!
The night I passed in the room of convivence of Brazil, that always closes the 10 of the night… but today because of the feminine end of voleyball, was a people mount there attending for the TV and twisting! Much emotion! The claw WAS VALID, WAS VALID BRAZIL!

Hi,
To wake up of morning today was a little difficult, but to receive as many messages and affection cheered my morning it made and me to value some things still more, and to have another perspective.
We attend the eliminatory ones of swimming for the television that has in the center of convivência of the athletes, and some fights of taekwondo. After the lunch I made a massage, therefore yesterday I did not obtain to free after the test.
The staff of the fisioterapia and the massagistas are very important during the recovery of the athletes. We are working with excellent professionals, the Jean, the Wagner, Luisão, Rui among others and have much that to thank and to know that they sufficiently help in them in the hour to be ready to compete.
The ends of the afternoon had today been full of emotion and some confusions. The arbitrators had wanted to declassify the Leonardo de Deus the 200 later whom it won butterfly, for it to have used a headress with the name of a sponsor, and it still he used this headress under the other, since this headress brought luck for it in the World-wide one.
They had stopped the competition for half hour to be able to decide this subject and the director technician Ricardo de Moura fought, and had the support of all the trainers of the other countries and had obtained to revert the situation for general joy. In the hour of the awarding all sufficiently were moved and its Albertinho technician and the Cesão, that is accompanying of team of the Leo had been moved for this medal so suffered, but very deserved. Congratulations to the Leozinho for all overcoming and the Kaio also that it was bronze in this test.
The 100 coasts also we had plus a gold for the Thiago and bronze for the Guido. Thiago is going route to the record of ouros in Pan! I attended the video of my test today and I gave to perceive as well as I was the test. Some basic details to improve, but that with trainings of the one to arrive there!

Yesterday the night we obtain to see the fogos of artifice of the ceremony of opening of the window of our room, pretty! Today the tests of swimming had started and start well super! The girls who had swum today had gained medals in all the tests! Daynara, Joanna and reve! The Diogo swam the 400 medley, being in seventh, test that the Thiago was gold. First time that we listen to the hymn here! Very good! The Diogo was sick There and with fever in La Loma, not obtaining to train per 4 days. It was weak and to swim 400 medley has that to be very well. It still nothing the eliminatory ones of 4x200 exempts. I today found with my parents and sister of morning and the afternoon also. They had come pra without ingression here and had obtained with money changer for today! How excellent! E Had helped the mother of the Joanna also to obtain. Very good they for being here! BLOG | Expectation surrounds the first day of competitions
Hi peoples,
It is with the biggest joy and pleasure that I go to make this blog during the Pan.
This is my fifth Pan, the first one was in Cuba-91, when I had 16 years, he has 20 years behind (I was also for 95, 99 and 07).
Many emotions and experiences had been lived since there, but the pride of being Brazilian, to be part of this teams of Brazilians, as much the ones that compete, how much the ones that they twist, and that believe, that they fight and that they give the claw is always very great!
We arrive in the Village has 2 days, before we train one week in There Loma (5 hours here). The apartments are great and are in the room with the Tatiana, but the Flávia sleeps in our room also. The Diogo is my neighbor and is in the room of the side. The food in village is good, but the lines are very great. It had one day that we delay 45 minutes to catch the food. The swimming pool is pretty and already she is ready for the beginning of competition.
Today the eliminatory ones if initiate 10H of the morning of Mexico (12H hourly of Brasilia). The ends will be 19H (21H hourly of Brasilia). The Diogo nothing 400 medley and the twisted one goes to be immense! I swim the 100 coasts in the sunday!
We could not go in the ceremony of Opening, therefore it finishes late and already we are concentrated in the competition, but we saw part for the TV and we saw that he was pretty!
Twisted total for Brazil that now who goes to make party we are we!

Hi people, we arrive here in Potosi San Luis this week to make a period of acclimatization in the altitude, before the Games Pan-Americans, who start week that comes. Here we are ha 1900 meters of altitude and in Guadalajara the altitude will be of 1500. Already it stows There in the center of training Loma in 2007 and the structure is very good: 2 swimming pools (1 of 50, 1 of 25), excellent bathrooms, medical center, refectory and structure for many other sports. Acclimatization has some athletes of Brazil of other sports making here also. I gained our uniform, that is Olympikus (since I came of U.S.A.) and only adored here! A stuffed luggage! It had until a camisetão speaking of the size of the twisted one of Brazil! Our feminine team is here with 20 girls, and the election is ready to make pretty inside and outside d’ water. Blog: News from Jacksonville, Florida
Hello everybody!
We are here in Jacksonville, Florida (USA) since two weeks. We are close to the beach, but we haven’t been there yet.
We are training at Bolles, a famous High School in US because of sports.
We got a car, borrowed for a while, and our apartment/hotel stay 20 minutes away from the pool.
Is hot here, quite humid and often rains in the afternoon.
They received us very well. We are loving the training here, with a focus in quality and technics.
We are sending some photos of our new life here! We are always thinking on you guys!

Hey all !!
The season has started and we will have many news and exicitment to live this year !!
I hope you like the new format of my site, in a blog style, where I want to be even more in touch with you! The other links are still here with my results, videos and other information.
The first week of training was in Brasilia, with the Vila Aquatica Team. It is always hard on the first week, but with a good group makes it much easier. I love to go to the MF Studio, where I work with Vagner in a new style of gym, focusing on core strength. I really believe in his work and it will help me this year go even further. We did a litlle gastronomic tour, eating at a Mexican and Crepe Restaurant.
The second week I spent in João Pessoa (North Cost of Brazil) visiting my dear mother in law and training at Kaio Marcio. We did a little adventure swimming to the “Areia Vermelha”(Red Sand) where at low tide all the people stay on a sand bank. We also saw the Sunset at Jacare, always so pretty ! Diogo and I did a clinic to kids and the result and participation was very positive. Next Saturday we will give another one in Taubate.

Diogo and I spent New Year’s Eve in Copacabana and it is with this energy that we wish all of you a blessed 2010, and may each second be lived with love and hope !
We stayed with Sergio and Jane some days in Rio and it was really nice. We went to the beach, the movies, to mass, and ate Japanese.
Now the easy life is over and I am back in training. I will start the season in Brasilia , training with Coach Antonio Henrique and his wife, Tatiana. Afterwards I go to Joao Pessoa .
I am looking forward to this new cycle, to enjoy and do my best!

Hi everyone!
Uauu… I was really busy this past days… doing catalog, training, interview, doing a commercial, traveling, competing… sorry for not updating the blog before…
but I will make it up for it with a few nice pictures !!!
We shot the new summer Catalog 2010 in the beach of Maresias ! It was a beautiful day and the patterns of the new collection are just like summer, happy and alive!
Summer is coming to Brazil !!
Diogo and I also made a commercial for a Building called PANORAMA. It looks really good and we also liked the building and will buy one there!
I swam the Jogos Abertos and won 3 golds and 2 bronze medals. My godfather’s Olenca and Roberto went there to cheer me on and I was really happy.
From there I went straight to the first World Cup in Durban. I swam well breaking 3 of my South American records and winning a gold, a silver and a bronze medal.
Now I will go to the European ones, I leave this sunday to Moscow.

Hi Everyone !!
We had a super positive week at our Nationals José Finkel, in Florianopolis.
I swam the 50 and 100 backstroke and won 2 gold medals with meet records. I also won best swimmer of the meet !
It was my 18th participation in the Trofeu Finkel and I won my 40th gold medal in the history of this meet. It was one of the closest competition between teams and it was neat to live this excitement! Diogo also swam well with a silver medal in the 400 IM and 4th in the 200 IM.
As soon as the meet was over I headed to Brasilia (Brazil’s capital) for our Independence Day Parade. There was several Olympic Athletes from volleyball, futsal, gymnastics, track and field and us!
The crowd (30 thousand people) gave us a warm welcome and it was nice to feel the enthusiasm and excitement from the Brazilian people !
I will be back to training now because there are the world cups coming and many good things yet !!

Return to Brazil
Hi Everyone!
The return to Brazil has been nice. Some days of rest are always good and welcomed!
On Friday I shot a video for Vanguard, called “Pride”, for their 6 years celebration.
The weekend was busy with celebrations! It was Diogo’s birthday and Father’s day. At Diogo’s birthday we made a barbecue for friends and enjoyed some sauna. It went from midday till midnight!! It was also my mom’s birthday in the same day, but she was traveling and we celebrated afterwords. They deserve all the happiness!!
Congrats for all the Fathers!! Specially mine, who always supported me, followed me, motivated me and taught me so many things. Thanks Dad!!
We went to Brasilia, Brazil´s capital to meet our President Lula for the success of our World Champs. First we went to the Post Office headquartes and were received by its president and its employees. Then we went to the minister of communication Helio Costa and then to the President residence, the Palacio da Alvorada. It was a relaxing and close meeting with Lula and the first lady Marisa, who received us very well. During lunch time at Post Office headquarters they talked about sponsoring, but we have not received any deeper information..
I am back to regular training now, since we have nationals in 3 weeks !

The last days in Slovenia were nice, hot weather and enjoyable pool !
We went to have dinner out with Peter Mankoc (Slovenian) and part of our team and it was nice. The fruits were so good and I love pineapple and it was one of the sweetest I ever had.
I went for a bike ride, actually from Slovenia to Italy !! But don’t think I got too tired…. it was only 10 minutes ride and I was in another country ! Got an ice cream and took some pictures !
A reporter from an Italian web TV saw me and asked if I could give him an interview. I did it in Italian, but hopefully was not so wrong… I will post the link here tomorrow, so you can watch it !
We are arriving in Rome today (thrusday) and I will send more news from there!

Hi Everyone !
This Sunday I had the opportunity to visit the church of Sveta Gora, which means Holy Mountain.
In the year of 1529 one girl (Ursula Ferlijog) had visions of the Virgin Mary who told her to build a church in that site. He was arrested several times by the secular authorities, yet she was always miraculously rescued from prison. The unstoppable devotion of the pilgrims convinced the authorities of 1540 to build a church in that site. When they were digging for foundation, they found a slab of stone, in which the the prayer Ave Maria had been carved. During the wars, the church was bombarded and parcially destroyed and reconstructed again. At WW II, the site was occupied by the Germans who turned the church into a fortress against the partisans. On April 1945 the partisans intented to bomb the church from airplanes, yet clouds miraculously covered it and spared it.
It is a place full of history and beauty and we can feel its power and tranquility. The view is also very nice and it was a beautiful day. I thank Alexander for taking me there to know the Holy Mountain.
At the workout I did some fast pace with the competition suit, Jaked, and it was nice. Roland Schumman from South Africa also did some butterfly pace with the competition suit and swam very fast. On the warm up though he had a Fabiola Molina suit on !!!! yyyeeehhh ! He says he loves it !

Hi everyone !
I have arrived in Europe after a good trip, but long. Still in Sao Paulo I gave an interview to the magazine Exame PME about the suit business and it went well.
I am not traveling with the National team, who left Brazil to go to Portugal. I came to Slovenia to train with the team I have been swimming, since the coach is here.
My flight was through Lisbon and then Bologna. From Bologna I took a train to Venice and then to Gorizia, next to Nova Gorica where I am now.
It has been very hot here, but there are a storm on the way for the weekend.
Next week we go to Rome and till then lots of rest and concentration !

Hi everyone !
The World Champs have already started and I was able to watch some diving today through the Italian TV. Tonight there will be the Opening Ceremony and I will watch as well and get into the competition mood and energy !
Training is going well and the pool here is internationalized already, with people from many countries. There is me from Brazil, then one from Venezuela, one from Serbia, one from Russia,one from Slovenia, 2 from Estonia, one from Latvia, 3 from Kazaquistan, and today the South Africa team arrived.
Tomorrow is Sunday, but there is training and I will go to a church here where many people peregrinate to receive miracles and blessings !

Hi Everyone !
With so many trips is hard for me to keep up with the blog… I am sorry… but now in the final phase for the World Champs, I will write more often so I will keep you posted on the last updates !
I was in Brazil for 10 days to swim the “Jogos Regionais”, a type of sectional games. I competed in Aruja, representing my city Sao Jose dos Campos. I swam 7 times (4 individual and 3 relays). As I am in the process of resting for the World Champs I did not go all out in all of them, also considering that there was no warm down pool… Our city won the meet in the women’s section in the last relay ! The men’s also won and Diogo helped them with 6 golds and 1 silver.
I spent the weekend at home and it was so good to recharge the batteries and see my family, friends and watch a good mass.
I just arrived in Europe and will be training in Slovenia with the A.D.N project for one week before I go to Rome.
The travel went well, although it was pretty tiring…
